Hi All,

Was looking to book a train to London from Cardiff in early hours of Sat 28th Oct.

About 2 weeks ago there was only normal fares being shown , today there are no trains direct.

Have looked on GWR (Great Western Railway) sit and planned engineering is only shown to Sept and there is nothing on National Rail except for some work between Cardiff and Newport.

Does anyone know, looks like National Express does cause they prices are already higher for this day.

Thanks

It's this:

http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/service_disruptions/currentAndFuture.aspx?TravelDate=28%2F10%2F2017&TOC=aw

Electrification works between Newport & Cardiff, 23-29 October  Smiley It also mentions (not very clearly) BPW» (Bristol Parkway - next trains)-NPT» (Newport (South Wales) - next trains) closed each weekend, replacement buses which are extended to CDF» (Cardiff - next trains) when NPT-CDF is closed, so I think the latter is more the cause of your ticket anguish! Might be worth considering an alternative to the train that weekend!

I suspect it is also half term that week which may also have some impact on pricing.

Thanks Chrisr -75,.
Looks like it's a bus  , nothing from Bristol TM (Train Manager, or Ticket Machine, or Temple Meads (Bristol), depending on context).
Must be something else.

Thanks

Journey Planner shows things like bus to Newport then via Gloucester, Westbury and Salisbury to Waterloo taking approx 6 hours !!!   Forget the train.
