From the FGW (First Great Western) website :

06:16 Abergavenny to London Paddington due 09:47
This train has been revised. It will no longer call at: Hereford, Ledbury, Colwall, Great Malvern, Malvern Link, Worcester Foregate Street, Worcester Shrub Hill, Pershore, Evesham, Honeybourne, Moreton-In-Marsh, Kingham, Charlbury and Oxford. This is due to a train fault.

That's pretty silly. If it was late leaving SPM (St Philip's Marsh (Bristol depot)) it should have run up to Worcester direct and taken up its path there. What use is a service non-stop from Abergavenny to Reading?

Didn't someone suggest a Hereford to London via Bristol service... methinks FGW (First Great Western) were timing it!!  Grin  Grin

HST (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) developed a fault (dragging brake) between Maindee and Abergavenny on the empty working, by the time the traincrew had rectified the fault the train would have been very late onto the Cotswold line. So Network Rail barred it from running beyond Hereford towards Worcester, so it ran via Severn Tunnel. Hence 1st stop Reading after Hereford. The sooner the single line sections between Oxford and Hereford get replaced with double track the better.
