13:40 Swindon to Weymouth due 15:54
13:40 Swindon to Weymouth due 15:54 will be started from Chippenham.
It will no longer call at Swindon.
This is due to a fault with the signalling system.
Additional Information
If you are travelling from Melksham station please use the Customer Help Point or contact National Rail Enquiries on 03457 484 950 detailing the total number of passengers in your party and your intended destination. This will enable us to get suitable replacement transport to you as quickly as possible.

As I've said before replacement transport should be there at train time.  How long is it going to take to obtain and get there if GWR (Great Western Railway) only start trying to source it at train time.

In this case journey check is wrong.  The train stops at Melksham.  It is those travelling from Swindon and beyond TO Melksham who are affected

Indeed.   The "up" train was 47 minutes late Melksham ... and terminated Chippenham ... making the return trip only 8 minutes late - "a fault with the signalling system".

16:21 Westbury to Swindon due 17:03
16:21 Westbury to Swindon due 17:03 is being delayed between Westbury and Chippenham and is now expected to be 6 minutes late.
This is due to congestion.

Not a serious problem ... until we have some wider infrastructure, these things will happen.

Much as we hate cancellations, they will happen "occasionally" and when they do, the provision of good information and alternatives is important.  I'm not able to be on the ground at Melksham Station at all today, but I must commend GWR (Great Western Railway) on much improved on-line information and indeed alternative provision southbound.

But I have to be at my workplace no later than 08.45 to open up the town centre shop that I am keyholder of to let my staff in and prep the store for the days trading. What do I do.

JourneyCheck should include a statement indicating passenger use a local taxi, get a receipt and submit with rail ticket for a full refund.

I've been in a vaguely similar situation on two occasions, both when everything melted down at Reading. On both occasions I jumped in a cab, got home, and sent receipts in to FGW (First Great Western) (as was) with an explanation, roughly £40 each time. They paid up without question.

What you could do of course is mention consequential loss, incurred as a result of you being unable to open your shop and trade due to them not providing the advertised service......they may well see paying a taxi fare as the lesser of two evils.

Not sure what's going on here ....

Additional 11:30 Chippenham to Westbury due 12:20 will be cancelled.
This is due to a broken down train.

Totally agree on consequential loss - all very well GWR (Great Western Railway) repaying and providing an alternative within an hour, but for a service that serially breaks its timetable and performance metric, they get of very lighty and have a real negative effect of their customer base and personally on their customers.

I’m on it.

Lots of clear announcements at both Westbury and Trowbridge with staff walking through the train.

The signalling fault was an axle counter failure at Thingley East Junction.
