Probably because they want certain 'type' of rail-interest people there. Hence no application form/price attached. Guess you aren't who they want there?

If the event is still on, they do themselves little credit by not even replying to enquiries. They could find they get less than complimentary comments about being off hand on various forums.

I'm not sure they care? Applications from email addresses with rail-associated companies are those they will be after. And very few of those partake in fora like this one
