From Rail Advent

Quote
RMT (National Union of Rail, Maritime & Transport Workers) has released a full list of London Overground’s plans to cut hours at 45 stations to the bare minimum and close the ticket offices altogether at Brondesbury, White Hart Lane and West Hampstead.

Last year, London Overground planned to close 51 ticket offices on the network.

However, RMT launched a campaign and thousands of London Overground passengers opposed the closures leading to the Mayor intervening and promising to keep the ticket offices open.

More than you might imagine!

The concession agreement (as signed - I've not checked if it's been changed) requires stations to be staffed -which is expected for TfL - but also to have staffed ticket offices. This is not the Underground, which TfL control (give or take a few unions). It's covered by the TSA (Ticketing and Settlement Agreement. The TSA sets out the various arrangements between the train operators relating to the carriage of passengers and the retailing of tickets.), of which section 17 dictates the opening hours of all ticket offices. So the latest verison says, for example, that Taplow (and Iver) must be open 0630 to 1300 weekdays. But the operator (XR (Crossrail)/MTR (Mass Transit Railway, based in Hong Kong)) can ask the SoS (as well as RfL) to change that, if they can catch his eye.

In theory from December when MTR (Mass Transit Railway, based in Hong Kong) start running the TV (Thames Valley, or TeleVision, depending on context) local service Taplow will be manned 15 minutes before the the first  train to 15 minutes after.
