End of an Era

This cropped up elsewhere. Ironbridge is of course a site of huge historical significance, and its supprising that the power station, although only dating from 1969, wasn't retained in some form for future posterity:

Or in the case of Didcot being exported to Germany, which presumably means it wasn't that bad.

Do you mean the (SGT?) transformers going to Siemens? For re-use or re-cycling?

Presumably they were UK^▸ made GEC units.
