Hi All,
Caught the 17.56 from Cardiff to London on Friday and felt cold.
Today caught the 14.12 from Reading to Cardiff and it was Freezing, everyone sitting wearing coats and hats.
Walked through all 2nd class carriages in the front 5 cars and everyone was cold.
Is this a ploy to buy hot drinks from trolley.

The cold is to numb your posterior in order that you wont notice the hard seats.
Impressed though if a trolley actually appeared and offered hot drinks.

A proper intercity train has a minimum of 8 coaches, gangwayed throughout, with first at one end, and a full sized buffet car between first and standard.
It has space for cycles, surfboards,luggage etc.
A 5 car DMU▸ is not a proper inter-city train. The 5+5 and 9 car DMUs are almost as bad.

It's a ploy to get broadgage to go to the buffet and ask to stand in front of one of the ovens. |

Not a new train ... but I bought coffee and toast on the 10 O'Clock on Monday morning. In this case, personal preference to a trolley in this case. Easy hand luggage only, and plenty of seats once I had got my coffee and toast. The layout of the passenger area in this case helped.  P.S. Blooming cold waiting - toast warm inside! |

That is on a train? even in Canada I would not think it could be that wide?
Also see there is a 'no pets' sign but with a dog in the photo, perhaps a guide dog..

10:00 southbound from Lymington Pier - destination Yarmouth. Real multi-mode trip with 3 different TOCs▸ by train, a ship (or is it a boat this time?) and a bus to where I'm working this week. Not sure about the dog, though I also spotted that when I looked back at the picture. |
