Seem to be daily changes at the moment.

The only trains of the GWR (Great Western Railway) day that runs via Eastleigh rather than Hamble. A problem with the same crossover that got damaged a month or two back and took some time to fix?   Hardly an immediate problem IMHO ('in my humble opinion') - with the time of day these services run, they're much more a route learning / refresh diversion for train crew than providing a service for key passengers at present (unless someone knows different?)

20:24 Bristol Temple Meads to Portsmouth Harbour due 23:04
20:24 Bristol Temple Meads to Portsmouth Harbour due 23:04 will be diverted between Southampton Central and Fareham.
It will no longer call at Southampton Airport Parkwy, Eastleigh, Hedge End and Botley.
This is due to a points failure.

That looks wrong for those points. NRE (National Rail Enquiries) is saying: (at 9:04):

All lines are now open as the fallen tree near Swanwick has now been removed from the tracks.

Trains running between Fareham and Southampton Central may still be cancelled or diverted via Eastleigh.

Disruption is expected until 10:00.

Yeah, it does look wrong for them.   Mind you, a GWR (Great Western Railway) diversion this morning left out Southampton Central - ran Fareham, Eastleigh, Romsey - so that also avoided those points.  What do other SWR» (South Western Railway - about) sources / changes tell us?

SWR» (South Western Railway - about) are now saying everything's fine - and today is Railway Day!

On RTT» (Real Time Trains - website), no train via Swanwick between the delayed 7:57 from BRI» (Bristol Temple Meads - next trains) (passing at 8:12) and the 9:09 PSM-SOU (on time). Three services lost plus a couple returning later, but no GWR (Great Western Railway) ones.

But that pints failure diversion is late tonight, so probably unconnected - looks more like mending something that's being adequately worked around during today?

On second thoughts, given the specific routeing of those trains, it does look like a planned further stage of work on those points at Eastleigh.

I don’t think the “via Eastleigh” GWR (Great Western Railway) (and Southern) services were running just before the land slip  anyway, because full functionality at Eastleigh wasn’t available yet.  Corrections welcome but I think there was no route available from Parkway via the up fast into P3, or from P2 towards Botley, so the various reversing trains were pulled to reduce the timetable conflicts.

When I checked a few weeks ago XC (Cross Country Trains (franchise)) ECS (Empty Coaching Stock) from Bournemouth/Southampton were still doing a shunt via P1 and the Chandlers Ford route to reach P3 and the depot.

RTT» (Real Time Trains - website) for last night (2nd Apr) has the two services shown as “not reported” between Fareham and St Denys, which is an indication they actually ran via Swanwick.

Confirmation of that in that Journey Check was reporting the same thing for yesterday evening, and I think the day before too.

Is that something to do with all pubs being closed?  Grin
