This is actually the second or third week the farmers market hasn't been held at Green Park (it definitely wasn't there last week, can't remember about the week before that), and sadly, from what I've heard, it is likely there will be several more weeks of absences. I don't know what work is needed to the roof, but I've yet to see any action taking place there, so there doesn't seem to be any rush on the part of the owners (who I believe are Sainsburys). Sainsburys have also said, rather ominously, that due to expansion of their business, they "need" the parking spaces that the market occupy each Saturday morning, so the market returning can't be assumed.

Bath and North East Somerset Council own Green Park Station, and have leased it out to Sainsburys on a long lease. Ethical Property manage the station. We can be reassured that it is not as bad as last time when the whole lot came down
This was in connection with the redesigning of Bath city centre by the Luftwaffe in 1941...

If major work is required, as seems probable, one might hope that solar panels could be installed as part of the project.
Several suppliers offer semi transparent PV modules that are ideal for glass roofs.

A proper intercity train has a minimum of 8 coaches, gangwayed throughout, with first at one end, and a full sized buffet car between first and standard. It has space for cycles, surfboards, luggage etc. A 5 car DMU▸ is not a proper inter-city train. The 5+5 and 9 car DMUs are almost as bad.

Things take longer to happen than you think they will, and then they happen faster than you thought they could.

April 1942, wasn't it? 1941 was what my ex-father in law told me and its too late to ask him now because he died in 1990. He lived in Bath right through the war and they certainly got a lot of "visits from across the Channel"

Was Green Park's windscreen ever glazed? Especially given the current use of the station, it would make sense to do so as it would improve the environment in there. Ditto selectively blocking the vents in the roof.

That's a shame. Not good for the traders either.

Unfortunate news that a fire occurred this morning at the former Green Park station in Bath which is used nowadays as a community space. Arson is being looked into as a possible cause of the fire which damaged the roof and wall. Let us hope that repairs can be made before too long. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-somerset-65365675Dave

both local news programmes are on at the same time on Sunday evening at 18:50pm
BBC1 might be late due to FA cup going into extra time and possible penaltys

Took a look at the exterior today and was more than a bit shocked at the damage to the roof. Mark
