Plymouth Sutton MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) Linda Gilroy today urged the Government to back the city's 'urban renaissance' as it seeks to grow in size and economic importance (link below.)

Mrs Gilroy said the city was 'not currently punching its weight' but had ambitious plans for the future.

The Labour MP told a Westminster Hall debate the city had plans to increase in size from 250,000 to 300,000.
