Hi all,

I'm soon to be making a trip from Basingstoke-Penzance. I'm after 1 adult and 1 child return over a 2-3 day period with a family and friends railcard, I was wondering which route is cheaper.

1. BSK (Basingstoke station, or Brake Standard Corridor (carriage), depending on context)-PNZ via SAL
2. BSK-PNZ via RDG (Rail Delivery Group, or Reading station, depending on context)
3. GWR (Great Western Railway) Night Riveria service with a double cabin. ( but returning on a day service.)

Thank you!

I could take a look if you could say dates and times you'd like to travel.

I'll see what I can find. Sleeper would obviously be the most expensive option. Is it something you'd like/prefer to do?

ADV = Andover

Is that BSK (Basingstoke station, or Brake Standard Corridor (carriage), depending on context)-ADV time right ChrisB? Seem to be travelling back in time!

It's probably referring to 8.34pm departure and an 8.14am arrival...

Doesn't look like it. Those times aren't going anywhere near Reading/Paddington for the Sleeper.

EDIT: Have checked. Bus from Basingstoke at 0734.

24th October is a Sunday GWR (Great Western Railway) 158.

If you want to experience the Sleeper then that would mean a Monday morning arrival in Penzance. It wouldn't be possible to do the Sleeper for a Sunday morning arrival as it doesn't run Saturdays into Sunday.
