A big "Thank You" to Worcester_Passenger for this quiz - posting here at short notice because it comes in looking rather better than anything I have "prepped" ahead of time.

DO NOT POST ANSWERS TO THESE QUESTIONS

Three questions for members to Answer:
1. How many do you know without research
2. How many do you know when you've spent more time than you really should on Google looking things up
3. The quiz is an old one. From the questions, can you tell / guess when it was set?

1. In 1973, which countries joined the EEC?
2. (The sports question) Back in 1973, who won the FA Cup?
3. In which year was the Channel Tunnel opened?
4. In which year was the Maastricht Treaty signed?
5. Which bus route runs from Heathrow Airport to Brunel University?
6. Where are Heuston, Connolly and Pearse?
7. Where are Part-Dieu, Perrache and Satolas?
8. Which European country has only one class of travel on its railway system?
9. Which European country’s railway is PKP?
10. In which city would you find RATP?
11. What does WAGN stand for?
12. Where would you find LGW?
13. In which year was the M25 completed?
14. In which year did British Rail rename Second Class as ‘Standard’?
15. In which year did Manchester Metrolink commence operation?
16. In which year did the Docklands Light Railway open?
17. In which year did electric trains start running in service between London and Edinburgh via the East Coast route?
18. In which year did London City airport open?
19. Which European city is served by Fornebu Airport?
20. Which European city is served by Linate Airport?
21. Which European city is served by Marco Polo Airport?
22. Which European city is served by Barajas Airport?
23. What’s between Kelvinhall and Kelvinbridge?
24. What’s between Herengracht and Prinsengracht?
25. What’s closed for rebuilding between Euston and Camden Town?

Do you want numbers from us for each category Grahame (and can we add a further category of "I think I can guess"?)

1. Without googling any of the answers, I think I would get only three answers (6, 11 and 12) - but I don't know for sure because I haven't googled the answers!
3. I guess about 2006

Do you want numbers from us for each category Grahame (and can we add a further category of "I think I can guess"?)

following looks like the sort of thing:

1. Without googling any of the answers, I think I would get only three answers (6, 11 and 12) - but I don't know for sure because I haven't googled the answers!
3. I guess about 2006

I know I would get 6 for sure and perhaps have a good change if I guessed at six of the others. Quiz Vintage - haven't a clue - hopeless with "which year" stuff!

Thanks Grahame

Based on your guidance, it's 11 I think I know, with two exceptions the rest look capable of being Googled given enough time - Wikipedia tends to be a good source of answers to "in which year did......?" questions.

The exceptions - the one about in which year the quiz was set, and the one about the bus route if this is a service that has changed hands over the years.

The exceptions - the one about in which year the quiz was set,.....

I think I could answer seven with confidence, straight off.  I'm pretty sure I could spend hours researching the rest

I got to nine above the cut-off at "pretty sure I know". The bottom two I was wrong about, though. I ignored the dates - my memory (like Graham's) doesn't do dates.
