Sailings on a Welsh ferry route have been suspended as the operator tries to plug gaps left in Northern Ireland.

Stena Line has cancelled all crossings between Fishguard, Pembrokeshire and Rosslare, Republic of Ireland until 12 April.

This was due to the suspension of P&O's services, after it sacked 800 staff saying the business was not "viable".

Stena Line has now moved a ship to Northern Ireland, following concerns food supplies could be affected.
Passengers who usually travel from Fishguard are being advised to travel on the Pembroke service instead, as Irish Ferries is accepting Stena Line customers.

'Issue' as in the new Fishguard ferry has been redeployed to Belfast to cover for a sick boat on one of Stena's other crossings.

As this happened at short notice, it's caused pain for passengers arriving by train for the boat after mid-day today, who have been instructed to transfer to Pembroke Dock for the after midnight boat there...

Stena Line: Fishguard - Rosslare: 22/07/2023 ***SUSPENDED UFN (Unpaid Fare Notice, or 'until further notice', depending on context )***

Please note the following information released by Stena Line Ferries this morning:

'Due to operational reasons, sailings of the Stena Nordica have been temporarily suspended until further notice. Passengers will be offered alternative Stena Line sailings, or transferred to Irish Ferries sailings from Pembroke Dock, SA72 6TW (0245hrs and 1445hrs). If you're happy to transfer to Irish Ferries, there is no requirement to contact us as your booking will be automatically transferred. Stena Line apologise for any inconvenience caused.'

There are no alternative services or facilities to offer customers at Fishguard Harbour so where possible, please advise any customers not to travel down to Fishguard.

Customers should contact Stena Line reservations on 08447 70 70 70.
