What started off as an innocent little "please check my fare" resulted in the passengers being denied groupsave, contrary to all descriptions of how groupsave works online. 

This in now a systemic issue, with GWR▸ (Great Western Railway) imposing unpublished rules onto unsuspecting passengers on the train, at a point where the passengers cannot decide not to buy the product when the price for the group is £10 higher than they had budgeted. I have moved the topic to our "technical interest" area for Transport Scholar members and I will come back here and give a summary update in due course.
