As you may know we produce two Customer and Stakeholder reports each year, which we publish on our website and circulate to partners and stakeholders by email.   The first of our reports for this year, which covers 2021/22 is now available here.
 
We have taken advantage of the digital nature of the report to add films, and links to other reports and more information.  We think this helps bring the report alive and it means we can give you much more detail than before.  However, it is the first time we have tried this and we would be grateful for your feedback.  Does it work?  Should we do it like this again?  Is there anything missing that we should cover in future.
 
You will also see that we include a number of contributions from industry and external partners, including Rail Minister Wendy Morton MP^▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context), we are really grateful to everyone who contributed.  Working together for the benefit of our customers and our communities is really important to us, and we very much welcome your input.

Grahame first page is fine,but why is the rest of the information been "turned right" by 90 degrees?

Or is it my AOL account that is the cause of the problem.

Depending on your web browser and PDF viewing application you may be able to rotate the subsequent pages through 90 degrees to save you having to tilt your head.

I have suggested to GWR^▸ (Great Western Railway) that they produce the PDF as single pages.   For those who want to print it (and some still do) there is no easy way to print in as a booklet in its current form.

On the face of it what a load of box ticking tosh this is for a set up that is Micro Managed by the Govt’s DfT^» (Department for Transport - about).

What has happened to the Customer Panels and well over half way through the year 2022 and still no planned dates for ‘Meet the Manager’.

Missing in action is mention of electrification. Perhaps next year's report could drop the photo of the prime minister of the day unveiling a custom 'Green means green' train livery in favour of a section outlining where the railway is with electrification, what the next steps are, and the timescale.

It's beyond embarrassing that the wires have not reached Bristol and is there something to be said for an island of infill electrication Newton Abbot to Plymouth?

It must be encouraging that research and development has resulted in ways to reduce clearance particularly beneath steel structures (Brougham Hayes bridge in Bath, looking at you for starters, and then there's that iffy little footbridge in Sydney Gardens - among the long list of other delights and challenges elsewhere...)

Mark - I don't know why you expect GWR^▸ (Great Western Railway) to say anything useful about the subject, since it's Network Rail's to do and they are saying nothing. However, NR^» (Network Rail - home page) have been planning away on the quiet, and they do now have a plan for implementing "traction decarbonisation" in the Wales & Western Region. Since a copy has been "liberated" and its content has just appeared in Modern Railways, that may apply a bit of pressure on NR to come clean on those plans. (Article appears to be public at the moment')

The Panels were not required in the new contracts. Most if not all operators have done away with them. A couple remain online/email only. I suspect MtM has gone the same way.
