From Journeycheck

Quote
08:27 Liskeard to Looe due 08:59

08:27 Liskeard to Looe due 08:59 will be cancelled.
This is due to a fault with the signalling system.

Seems the key has snapped in the door lock of the token hut on platform 3 at Liskeard.

Permissive working for the whole route by paper 'token' from Liskeard box?
I do recall paper tokens being used in the past when there were signalling problems (or is that my mind playing games again).

Would you believe it !

Three Looe Branch trains each way were thus cancelled this morning; one hopes at least Taxis were available.

Will all traincrew members keys now be examined/ultrasonically tested for cracks and defects ?

Not sure how that would work with the token for the ground frames at Coombe Junction.

Announcement you never want to hear: "If there is a locksmith on the train, please contact a member of staff."

Wonder if the staff that work with that cabinet noticed the fragility of that single point of failure before it happened.

I did have the announcement last week "If there is a guard on the train..." That was from Waterloo platform staff using the trains PA (Public Address (broadcast loudspeaker announcements) or Passenger Assist (railway staff providing physical assistance to passengers with mobility issues), depending on context) about 5 minutes before departure. The train left on time, presumably with the guard.
