The article is perhaps a little harsh.  I've used Stapleton Road Railway Station on occasion to get to and from the nearby IKEA store but have to admit to being a bit wary and keeping my wits about me when there, especially along some bits of the route.  I tend to avoid after dark though....seems sensible.
