Wellll .. as I started it the thread was single words.   Multiple word answers go all though the alphabet from Abbey Wood to Wood End ... and we are in the "Lighter side" where we can freely make up the rules as we go along.

But Bury does have a railway station and it is called Bury Station on the ELR▸ (East Lancashire Railway, or Engineers Line Reference, depending on context) website.

I am not minded to get into a discussion on the use or not of apostrophes in a geographical context that is exercising part of the media. Apparently Ordnance Survey has a problem with them, I presume their GML (Geographical Markup Language) gets its nickers in a twist, or the users of it do!

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.
