Jane Austen special train

passengers will be treated to a Jane Austen event on one of the trains from Bath to Trowbridge on Wednesday 18 September 2024.

Ladies & Gentlemen on Parade

13:30 (duration 4 hours)

Meet: outside the taxi rank entrance of Bath Spa Train Station, Dorchester Street, BA1 1SU

Enjoy a unique Regency Costumed event at one of Wiltshire’s finest Georgian buildings. Dressed in your own Regency finery, you’ll be escorted by "Mr Darcy" on a short 18 min train journey through the beautiful scenic countryside to the magnificent Parade House in Trowbridge.
Your ticket includes train travel, a House History Tour by the owners, a delicious Full Afternoon Cream Tea with a glass of Champagne in the grand Ballroom, Regency Parlour Games and Theatrical Entertainment.

Tickets £120 PLEASE NOTE THE EVENT IS SOLD OUT,so I presume that does not stop you boarding the train and just observing.

There have been Jane Austens wandering around in recent days ...

I caught up with these two (had a chat with them, picture with their permission) on Saturday - they had come all the way from Louisiana and Georgia for / co-ordinating their trip for the current celebrations.

I'm well impressed with that meeting, grahame: I'd have liked to meet those ladies from Louisiana and Georgia too, as a 'Confederate from Nailsea' - much to my daughter's disagreement. Roll Eyes

Yes, I know the American Civil War was rather later than Regency Bath ... Wink
