Does anyone know how much a return is between these stations?
This journey and its fares do not exist according to all the online planners.

It's a one-stop St Ives Bay Line Ranger - ^2.00 adult.

Branch line fares were replaced by the St Ives Bay Line Ranger three years ago.

So what are the full ranger prices?
I'll be living in St Ives for 6 weeks and commuting to Carbis Bay with occasional weekend trips beyond St Erth

The fares on the St Ives are stupid and a pain in the arse to be quite frank! The day ranger is ^4.00 and the "one stop hop" is ^2.00, there are no railcard discounts apart from Devon and Cornwall railcard, stupid thing is St Erth to St Ives is a "day ranger" at ^4.00 and yet Hayle to St Ives is ^2.40 CDS▸ (Off Peak Day Single [ticket type] (formerly 'Cheap Day')) and all railcards valid! I would have though ATOC» (Association of Train Operating Companies see - here) may have kicked up before now about railcards not being availiable on the branch. For those of you not familiar, Hayle to St Ives is further than st erth to st ives.

I can get to Plymouth for ^6 but birdwatching at Lelant is ^4 - nonsense - it's not even 3 miles.
Everyone who 'knows' does the Hayle ticket. I also see a lot of groupsaves in the summer.

St Ives has full ticket office facilities and can issue railcards - unfortunately there's also a ranger ticket machine at the platform issuing the ^4 tickets.

A Hayle season ticket ??

Traincrew are forever complaining about it, it's about time it went back to how it used to be, with good old CDR▸ (Off Peak Day Return [ticket type] (formerly 'Cheap Day'))'s and SDR's! every other branch in Cornwall is cheap, i.e. Truro to Falmouth is only ^3.00 return and thats 12 miles!

Remember in the 90's being horrified by a letter the station manager at St Erth showed me - no cheap day tickets to be issued - back to the bus for us.

We did miss being terrified by the speeds some of the drivers achieved on the decline past west cornwall golf club but not the tedious wait when one of the drivers stopped the train to pick up lost golf balls.

So what happens if someone requests a season ticket from St Erth to St Ives ? Last time I checked the line was still part of National  Rail !
