Hi there

Came across the forum whilst checking hits on my site. Nice to see the positive comments about the railway network and services I love & work for. I'm a Relief Signaller in Cornwall, and have enjoyed browsing the galleries.

Hope I can be of assistance, I've been a Signaller / Controller / Power Box Supervisor & Mobile Operations Manager in Cornwall, Bristol, Swindon & Cardiff so have been around a bit.

Hi to you too, winterbourne - and welcome to the Coffee Shop forum!

Thanks for your offer of assistance on all matters signalling - I'm sure our members will find that very useful in trying to understand some of the apparently strange things that happen on the railways!

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

You are on the right lines.

I was going to get you a Taxi... but I think i'll subject you to Bustitution (the practice of replacing trains with buses) instead  Grin

Perhaps we should have an omnibus edition of this thread every month, for those who have missed an instalment.
