Here's a picture of Melksham station taken yesterday, showing the housing development at Spencer's Gate in the background.   Train services connecting the major urban centres are minimal these days, with no weekday trains calling (southbound) between 06:40 and 17:11, and nothing (northbound) between 07:17 and 19:47.

Deep and crisp and even on the platform!  At least it was on my (x2) visits last Saturday.

Just out of interest, Graham. How long would the platform be if the old part with the fencing was brought back into use?

I did visit Melksham the other week, but only to go to the Forresters Arms pub on the fringes of the town.

At least five coaches ... possibly six, but I'm in Milton Keynes this week so I can't measure it (I could really have done with Yeovil to Yarmouth via Oxford and Cambridge - I find myself wanting to use that line surprisingly often!)

Let me know next time you'll be in Melksham ... drop in for a coffee at the least.  And I'm posting that in the open so it makes it a bit of an "open invite" for well established friends / regulars.

Melksham is the takeaway capital of Wiltshire, so we don't try to compete in that market.  But you are very welcome to transfer coffee from the cups in which we to serve it into your stomach and take it away in that  Wink
