First TransPennine Express Earlybird. Valid for travel on any train travelling between permitted destinations. Available as a weekly or monthly ticket. You must arrive at your outward destination before 07:30. Your return journey must depart between 10:00 and 16:00, or after 18:30. Early Bird ticket holders who need to travel during peak times can purchase Early Bird Plus for GBP6, allowing  peak period travel on the day of purchase. This must be purchased before you board the train

Southeastern Earlybird Season Ticket. From Gravesend and Meopham to London where journey starts on specified trains. Return journey on any train Gravesend to Charing X: 0434 0515 0547 0550 0615 0645 0651 Gravesend to Cannon St: 0624 0700 (or 0711 via London Bridge if 0700 cancelled) Meopham to Victoria: 0607 0627 0708(or next train if 0708 cancelled), for Elephant and Castle or Blackfriars change at Bromley Sth Sidcup to Charing X: 0458 0513 0546 0614 0643 0657 Sidcup to Cannon St: 0652.

I've sometimes wondered about the decreased value of season tickets when being used for regular non-peak journeys; many years ago I used season tickets on trains that were nearly empty as I travelled from the London suburbs to school - and later to work - out at the end of the suburban line at a town just in the country.

The above came from a season ticket terms and conditions page.   Does FGW^▸ (First Great Western) (or XC^▸ (Cross Country Trains (franchise)), SWT^▸ (South West Trains) or LM^▸ (London Midland - recent franchise) or Arriva Wales or Chiltern) offer any off peak / restricted seasons?

FGW^▸ (First Great Western) don't, which is a shame as they would probably get bought.
