Another 1721/1821/1921 PAD ro HFD question......diagrams

Can anyone tell me which incoming train is diagrammed to form each of these?

That way I can check to see (a) if its running on time and therefore the likelihood of affecting me and (b) work out which platform once the incoming has arrived!

1W08 1821 (0737 Penzance Paddington (one hell of a layover, presume it goes to OOC^▸ (Old Oak Common (depot)) for servicing))

Yup

Ironically im on the 1922 having come in on it from Slough - got out of work too late to get to Reading to connect with the 1822 so figured I'd jump train into PAD^» (Paddington (London) - next trains) to pick this up - only to discover it is the same set I cam in on,

And having ridden to WOS^» (Worcester Shrub Hill - next trains) last night on the 1922 in  green buffet and then down this morning in a green buffet, I think its fare to say i'll be meeting this set again tomorrow morning!

It must be annoying for you that peak services skip Slough.

Looking at the country as a whole, it is beginning to become very difficult to get by direct rail from the Home Counties north, esp at peak times.

It is - but I can accept that as slough does not really warrent peak stopping for the HST^▸ (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) high speeds - at least the connection is only 10 minutes after my HST gets to reading

What s more annoying - and I think johare would agree with me is the lack of slough semi fasts - the Reading - Twyford (maybe) - Maidenhead - Sough - Ealing - Pads

They all - apart from the odd oxford semi fast - seem to be stoppers

actually no - I remember when the 0549 was a turbo and stopped at slough

if the 0535 stopped at slough I would happily get up for it - instead ill live with the 0635 which I do not expect to stop there

Fair enough and I agree. I don't think they should stop.

A good semi-fast service would be useful.

Another reason why more tracks are needed between Paddington and Reading, to:

(a) Allow more and faster "fasts"

(b) To maintain a good "semi-fast" frequency, including peaks, AS WELL AS a regular all stops "Crossrail-to-be" service.

On the WCML^▸ (West Coast Main Line), a benefit of a new High Speed line would be to allow more Milton Keynes and Watford stops from places up North etc.

Enjoy them while they last. Won't be long now before they're all gone. I travelled on a brown buffet recently and the hunting (bouncing up and down) was quite unbelievable.

Yes.. I do totally agree.. Although I'm not currently commuting into London daily, I hope to again in the future, so still have an interest in having a regular, fast and reliable service..

I actually like the old carriages - they have character and the seats for me actually are more comfy (I'm short and the squab on the new seats slope back - if I SIT in the seat I cant touch the floor or reach the table so I have to perch rather oddly on the edge)

But I do agree about the bouncing
