My first is within the FGW (First Great Western) saved area.  My second is within the UK (United Kingdom).  And my third is far, far away. But I know that at least 1 or 2 members may recognise the style, of not the exact location, of each.

Yes, you're right.  Now - how about the 'mid' (UK (United Kingdom) but not FGW (First Great Western)) and far (not UK) pictures?

I could never tell one traffic cone from another ...

Number two.   Hmm - do you mean geographically in the North West quadrant of the UK (United Kingdom) (Yes) or in the area known as the North West of England? (No).

No 3 is definitely somewhere on Amtrak's Northeast corridor (i.e. on the line between Boston and Washington DC (Direct Current) via New York and Philadelphia). At a wild guess, is it Wilmington, DE?

The third one is indeed the North East Corridor ... the wild guess of Wilmington isn't it, but it's not that wildly distant.  Sorry, Mookiemoo ... Australia is way out (but I wondered if you might get No. 2 - I suspect you're one of the more likely members to do so!)

Hmm.  I rather think, relex109, that when grahame suggested that 2 is 'in the North West quadrant of the UK (United Kingdom)', he may have been hinting that we should look rather further afield.  To Northern Ireland, for example?  Lips sealed

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.
