Just interested into my approach compared to letter of the law.........

Up train this morning - I was half asleep on way to toilet in FC▸ (First Class, or Fat Controller, or Football Club, depending on context) - noted because of wide ailse compared to SC.  Went over a set of points I should have expected (we do it every bloody day) and ended up knocking bare foot against slidey door.

Result - broken toe - I now - its been broken five times before - now six - was not sure at the time but confirmed with swelling etc development through the day


FGW▸ (First Great Western) re not to blame - it was just one of those things with someone who has broken said toe so many times its fragile.

Should I have alerted the staff to fill in numerous pages of paper and probably got slidey doors banned in the long term - or should I just do what I did and say - cest la vie

Think you did the right thing. You wouldn't have got compensation as you were walking around the train without any footwear on. Though were you to watch daytime TV▸ (Thames Valley, or TeleVision, depending on context) I'm sure you'd see some ambulance chasing adverts which might encourage you to claim.
