What about a new rail service from Plymouth to Bristol.

Plymouth North Road stopping at all the Station to Taunton

New Station

You mean the hourly XC (Cross Country Trains (franchise)) service calling all stations that deserve such a service?

It seems that there may be already plenty of service  between these two destinations.


If a new station were built in the following locations. I Can't see FGW (First Great Western) wanting the HST (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) from and to  London Paddington  stopping at these new station because it takes long enough to get to Exeter, Plymouth and Penzance and other parts of Cornwall.

If new stations were built at any of these palces then they ought to be on loops.

I would doubt Cullompton as it's close to Tiverton Parkway.

It would also be a chance to implement the IC (Inter City) and RE (Religious Education) concept to get over teh need to stop HSTS (IEPS ) at all teh smaller places.

IC trains would stop (Newton Abbot) Exeter Taunton (Weston) Bristol.

The RE would stop most  stations and be overtaken and connect into and out of the ICs at Newton Abbot, Exeter and Taunton. The RE's could also split/combine  at  Newton Abbot with a Paigton portion.

Plus possibly an S bahn all stations service form Exeter Paigton.

Hopefully all electric.

I could see a electric Service been done from Bristol to Exeter, because it would via large populated area.

If that was the case and London to Bristol was electrified they could create a new electric Service.

I'm speechless..... I can't imagine many people with enough interest in our railways to contribute over a thousand posts would not know the answer to that question.

Oh, by the way, it's third rail.
