There's a set trundling around (for at least a week or so) that only has 1 first class coach (and no buffet). Whilst I accept that there may be a shortage of 1st class coaches for some reason, would it not be beyond the wit of the depots to ensure that the set reduced to 1 first at least has a full buffet, thus giving 1st pax (passengers) 1.5 coaches?

Or at least isn't put on a prime business train such as the 0800 Temple Meads to Paddington, as it has been on two occasions in the last week?

I believe that worked as one of the peak herefords at one point before christmas - most likely the 1722

It was more than a little cosy from Reading to Oxford

I suppose I shouldn't complain too much. Suspect the 1st class provision on the following service will be slightly reduced from normal:-

21:48 London Paddington to Worcester Shrub Hill due 00:16
This train will be formed of 2 coaches instead of 8.This is due to poor weather conditions.

Calm down, calm down.

I don't see a Cotswold service at that time of night being packed to the rafters...it might be a bit cosy as far as Oxford but I doubt 2 cars will be grossly insufficient capacity beyond there.

The last service back to Oxford (used to be around 0020, or was it 0048? Having memory problems) always seemed to be a two-car and that was usually just enough, although there wasn't a lot of spare space.
