A picture I snapped last night ...

I'm working 'away' this week, but was on the train last night - picture taken while I waited.   At what station (it's somewhere in the London area) was I waiting?

Stewart Lee on Balham:

"I was on the South Circular road in South London and I drove past a church there. Big sign outside, six foot high, orange, capital letters. It said 'You won't get to Heaven on the South Circular.'

And I thought, "No, but I will get to Balham, where I live."

Funnily enough I know Stewart Lee, and he doesn't live in Balham at all.

Ah Balham brings back memories. Standing on Balham station with an 8F pounding up the bank on Willesden  Norwood Yard transfer.

Nightingale pub talent nights, pre Kareoke.

Saw Summer Holiday in the local cinema.

Then best of all steaming through on 48544 on 4 june 1965.
