This can also mean that the existing track layouts remain unaltered but the number of signal boxes is reduced, the control for several boxes being put into one box the "Absolute Block Working" principle is kept but instead of a man / woman manually forwarding and accepting trains this is being done by "computers" at locations which use track circuits or axel counters, auto signals etc to monitor trains and forward and receive them from one block to the next its not a full resignalling

I know you are right on this, as a Electrification Engineer my mind wanders during the S & E briefings when the finer points of re-locking re-control is discussed I expect my
S&T▸ colleagues do the same when we talk about 6 pulse or 12 pulse rectifiers

either way there is a lot of schemes being done ............. just hope Her Majesties Government do not scupper them
