Bennett's fish and chips is dead good, I can recommend it highly. Ages since I went but it looks as if they have a restaurant bit as well as a takeaway:

I would have done Weymouth, that was until the date changed and now I can't.

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

Just need some info as to what trains people are getting - im back up to grotwick on the sunday evening so weymouth not that bad for me in the scheme of things!

I (and bignosemac, I think) will be travelling on the 07:45 Bristol Temple Meads to Chippenham service, then the 08:37 Chippenham to Weymouth.  Smiley

I'm actually visiting STEAM next Weds. Should've been today but I got rainchecked by a mate.

Yes, Swindon is an easy target for negativity. It's not just me though. Was traveling to Swindon today (and beyond as it turned out) and bumped into a FGW▸ (First Great Western) TM▸ (Train Manager, or Ticket Machine, or Temple Meads (Bristol), depending on context) who is a forum member. He saw my ticket and said, "Swindon? Why?"

Struggled to find an answer, except to say that I was breaking my journey at Chippenham.....
