My cousin is currently on the 13:33 due Reading 15:09. He phoned me from Leamington Spa to say they were stuck there due to over running Engineering works.

He's now just left Banbury.

This train and it's return working 15:40 to Endinburgh  are shown as cancelled for Reading so obviously terminating at Oxford.

I've phoned to tell him the good news! Fortunately he's only coming to Maidenhead would be Taplow if we had trains on Sunday so should get here alright as the local service seems to running to time.

What do they say never travel on Sunday!

Pribably due to late start of works last night.

This was owing to a nasty fatality in the tunnel at Gerrards X at 1748 yesterday. The BTP (British Transport Police) wouldn't allow the line to reopen for nearly 6 hours and last trains needed to run prior to line closure, which should have been at around 2200, but was delayed by about an hour.

The BTP wanted to see any CCTV (Closed Circuit Tele-Vision) of the incident, but as they've switched off the lights in the tunnel to save money, the footage was blank. The tunnel could have opened a lot earlier if someone had had their brains plugged in and realised this a lot sooner.

According to my sources the possession has now been given up, though there are delays of around 20 mins south of Banbury due to a TCF (Track Circuit Failure) holding BS5 at danger.

Update at 16:00 now on 13:28 ex Hereford due Reading 16:19. If he runs might just get 16:21 but looks like he's got to do 8 to 10.

Will keep you posted.
