Hello All

Just joined this interesting forum, and I thought I should introduce myself - I live near Oxford, and have been using FGW (First Great Western) services for many years, mainly Oxford and Didcot to London, but also the Cotswold line from Charlbury, and in Cornwall where I have a fondness for the Falmouth branch line.  Having a bit more time to spare, Mrs Mac and I want to try out
-  Bristol to Weymouth
- more (North) Cotswold line stations
- and I'm looking forward to the sleeper service from Paddington down to Truro/Penzance
- and loads of others!

My interest in trains started on Langley station in the 1960's as a (hush...junior trainspotter) with my Ian Allen Western Region, marking off Castles, Halls and the Blue Pullman (if my memory has that right?) and travelling on those dark green diesel railcars with the go-faster stripes on the front - trying always to get a seat at the front behind the driver (have I got that right as well?).

rgds to all

And, also, a warm Coffee Shop welcome to you, Western Enterprise.  Smiley

Diesel-hydraulic was once thought of as the future, but those pesky diesel-electrics won the day.  Wink
