Posters - do you look at them? What are they saying?

Over the past week I have waited for a lot of trains and in doing so observed a lot of posters.  What message do they convey?  Are they the "right" posters? Is anything missing?  Do we need less (with more architecture seen) or more (to give other messages?)

From Bristol Temple Meads ... now much do we really need to be reminded ...

... if you want to be certain the message gets through, tell them 4 times in Bath - BUT better to repeat a correct message if these are old timetable boards and new posters are on order after a short notice change


From Salisbury ... talking about something I wouldn't even have thought of doing - and still would not do.  But is this educating people in the wrong direction?  Part of a campaign - I find myself ordered by other posters not to stare at people, for example

Repeating a lack of timetables is not helpful to those who don't carry a mobile.

Interestingly most of the books I have seen on British railway posters are American publications. The only British books on transport posters tend to focus on London Transport.

Do I look at them? From a design point of view, preferably not.
