At an event in Bristol today ... and got back to Temple Meads at 13:25 ... which was a darned shame because the Melksham trains (so useful having then on the A to Z!) were 13:22 - which had of course departed on time - and 15:00.  Undecided

Look further (at Bob's post) and you'll note that the connection off the 15:00 - into Melksham - has been cancelled due to a train fault ...

Bad news, good news.   13:30 Bristol to Chippenham, on time arrival 13:54.  Delayed (running !) TranWilts  which should have left at 13:46 didn't leave until 13:55 with me on board.   14:03 into Melksham, 14:21 home.   Just shows war can be done, even if it wasn't supposed to be.

Any other stories of EARLY arrivals due to LATE trains?

I know GWR (Great Western Railway) are performing abysmally at the moment, but declaring war on them is a bit strong!  Wink Tongue

Given a certain somebody's propensity for typos.... It is a wonder he didn't return from Munich, sorry Melksham, waving a piece of paper declaring 'peas in our thyme'....... Huh
This was meant to be a light hearted, off the cuff, spur of the moment riposte to the remark that 'declaring war on GWR (Great Western Railway) was a bit strong'. It was not designed to cause offence to anyone and if it has, I apologise unreservedly.
