It was previously suggested that H&W were considering to build 3 new ships to run a competing service using the levelling up fund that the IOSSP declined, H&W now appear to be trying to take control of the IOSSP....

With ticket office staff, I know that several staff had already applied for, been interviewed and offered other positions, mainly on board. If they wanted to return to their original posts would they be allowed to? If not or if they didn't want to, will management fill the vacancies?
Don't forget this proposal only kicks the can down the road.
This years pay award, of which talks start in February, will be subject to the same changes to conditions that have been talked about for the past 18 months but done locally i.e. by individual TOCs (Train Operating Company) (allegedly(!))
I expect the subject closure of ticket offices WILL raise it's head again by the end of next year when the security of no job losses disappears.

2Z09 (9 car Exeter to Plymouth) used to up line to arrive at Newton on platform 3.
2C07 (5 car Exeter to St Austell) seems to have been stopped outside Newton for an hour (although RTT» (Real Time Trains - website) showing it at platform).
IF 2C07 has also failed, that's 2 platforms out of use.
Maybe 2C07 is the Thunderbird.

I believe 2C07 shunted behind 2Z05 (also failed 5 car)

Ironically 0743 EXD» (Exeter St Davids - next trains) - PLY» (Plymouth - next trains) arrived right time......  Operated by ......CrossCountry

Not the first time.

Some many years ago there used to be a lunchtime Ply-Pad via bristol, Mon-Thu.
Fridays it started back at Pnz and went via the B&H (Berks and Hants - railway line from Reading to Taunton via Westbury), I was on it once on a friday and exactly the same thing happened. Brakes went it as we went passed the junction, came to a halt and after 10 mins or so, shunted back and away we went right road.

Probably went down to the signaller forgetting which day of the week it was.

Bit off topic but is it the box from Cogload that's at Coleford in the Forest of Dean?

Mark

I honestly don't know.
