It's a shame to see that XC▸ haven't put Bath on their route map, even with a dotted one service per day note. They don't seem to have advertised it at all really. It's only included in the timetable as a note at the top of the column that you have to go and look up.

Its purely a raid on FGW▸ / SWT▸ revenue. Its not designed to benefit passengers (like many things on XC!) |

Its purely a raid on FGW▸ / SWT▸ revenue. Its not designed to benefit passengers (like many things on XC!) Well this has all been discussed elsewhere before, I doubt the revenue received by XC will be great, given that there is only one train a day in one direction. |

It will be of use to Bath residents though as it will make it possible to be in Birmingham before 0800 and connect into the 0634 Bristol TM‡ - Plymouth.

Isn't it just beating FGW▸ to it who are obviously waiting for it to be exactly a month before the TT change (23rd May) before posting theirs on the website like Network Rail do with the National Rail Timetable. I was surprised to see SWT▸ and EMT» have already posted their new TTs up. Personally I dont see why some TOCs▸ wait until exactly a month before. If you've got em, post em! |

Well this has all been discussed elsewhere before, I doubt the revenue received by XC▸ will be great, given that there is only one train a day in one direction. ORCATS▸ means that even one train per day makes the sums work in XC's favour. |

I notice the Great Malvern to Brighton (arr 16:14) train is now "Seat Reservations Recommended". Is this their way of saying "we'll put on two coaches if you're lucky". And no trolley service for the last few timetables (no room to push the trolley down the aisle?) I deliberately choose not to travel on this service nowadays as it has become far too overcrowded for my liking.
The 17:23 Sunday service from Bristol Temple Meads to Avonmouth has been removed. This is probably the busiest non-peak time SVB line train that I use (full of students). Not too much of a problem as there is a service 30 minutes later, which is a better connection for me.
Any idea when the new fares (and NFM▸ 06) will be released?

The earlier start and later finish on the SVB line is very welcome - makes my Sunday journey options much more flexible. Thank-you FGW▸ and Bristol City Council. Any idea when the new fares (and NFM▸ 06) will be released?
Perevious NFMs have been released 3 weeks before their 'live' date. May usually sees few fare changes, although restriction changes, have in the past, been quite common. The complete National Rail Timetable should also be available online 2-3 weeks before 'live' date. I'm keeping my eye on the various websites and will post links (if not beaten to it!) when the info becomes available. |

Wessex Trains also used to afternoon run to Brighton as 2 car so it has always been a busy service so no change there. |

Looks as if FGW▸ have finally got the New May 2010 Timetables on their website, I had a look at the retimed 1836 Paddington to Bourne End and saw it's a 5 car formation, which of cause means very high passenger volumes to Slough and Maidenhead, only thing I can image with this is every one pressing against one another for a gasp of air. However the problem becomes very much worse if it's 3 or 2 car with a predicted 60% of passengers who are unable to board, or who decide to travel on the roof being thrown side to side. I can image all the soar heads and sick passengers who wish that they could get a superjet home. Anyway back to reality what FGW should have done is add an additional stop on the 1833 service from Paddington to Paignton first stop at Maidenhead at 1852, instead of destroying one fast peak service for a very busy town. Shame on FGW, I hope Maidenhead commuters get the fast stop back even if the 1833 does stop at Maidenhead, otherwise FGW can expect some really unwelcome letters.
