Thought I'd have a count of the 5 cars trains at Warminster again today - just in case they have found some more ..................FOUR !  Pathetic.............

Done! I look forward to the introduction of the "sturdy donkey" as a unit of weight.

How many of those to an “Olympic swimming pool”  "jumbo jet" ?
174  All across the Great Western territory / The Wider Picture Overseas / Re: Weight limits for passengers on public transport on: August 25, 2022, 16:15:32
And the donkeys on Santorini were certainly in the upper end of size.   I suspect, though, that they are not up to that 500 Kg figure.

I do not profess to be an equine expert but, on a second look, those "donkeys" look more like mules....................or perhaps their riders are just very small people.

When we went out to our (18 seat) aircraft for the Grand Canyon tourist flight we had to stand on painted "footprints" displaying our seat numbers. This ensured that the aircraft was efficiently loaded from front to rear and that the pilots could see that the passenger load was balanced along the aircraft. Obviously there was no hold baggage.

We had a day boat two weeks ago today and were warned then that canal water levels were low. That was from Devizes to Allington and back......no locks.

Perhaps time to seek an official update on whether that is still the plan when 769s eventually release more turbos?

Will yet another "official update" throw any more light on the subject ? On past performance the answer has to be a resounding NO !  It is more than 5 years since we were promised "more seats"  (disingenuity or lies ?) on this route with cascaded 165/6s - don't hold your breath................

Today's pathetic effort by GWR (Great Western Railway) shows just 4 five car calls at WMN» (Warminster - next trains). There do also appear to be 4 four car calls - but these all accounted for by a reversing service from WSB» (Westbury - next trains) crossing over. ALL the remaining services are 2 and 3 cars.......................disgraceful !!!

Update: On closer examination even the (solitary) 5 car train appears to be a 158 ...................
