Hi, last Thursday I had to go from Newton Abbot to Torquay, the train is not very useful for this as it's a long walk from both Torre and Torquay stations to the town centre and the service is infrequent so I decided to get the bus.  I could not believe the fare  when I got on though, ^4.50 torbayday ticket for a return journey.  This is almost double the train fare.  I would have got the train if it had not been for the long walk to the town centre.

Probably would have worked out the same price if you got off the train at Torquay and bought a ticket to the Strand!!

Stagecoach bus fares are a rip off. Another annoying thing is that Stagecoach don't do through fares. I've only walked about half a mile as i ran out of money due to the over-priced bus fare and the lack of through ticketing meant it would have cost far too much.

Oh well, at least the service is frequent and the buses are modern!

Hmm...

The vintage buses operating on my route are far less comfortable than a Pacer seat which actually has some padding!!!
These buses of yours: are they modern, or vintage?

My route isn't the Newton Abbot - Torquay route.
