I've been looking at this...

https://www.gwr.com/travel-updates/christmas-travel

and I notice there may be some trains to run between Reading and Marylebone - excuse my ignorance but which route do these take?

I also note they are running HSTs (High Speed Train) into Waterloo....I'm not interested in this route but does this mean it will be time to get the blue tarpaulins out to cope with those dirty GWR (Great Western Railway) trains?

The trains running to Marylebone won't be calling at Reading.

Route will be South Wales-Bristol Parkway-Swindon-Oxford-Banbury (reverse)- down the Chiltern mainline to Marylebone.

My first thought was "oh, maybe I could see some different lines..." have I been lurking on here too long?

I have my latest in a line of "Phil's Madventures" lined up for Monday 28th December!

PIN-EXD» (Exeter St Davids - next trains)-BPW» (Bristol Parkway - next trains)-MYB (London (Marylebone))-WAT-(via RDG(resolve))-EXD-PIN

With Advance tickets, the whole Madventure comes to ^39.50, which is cheaper than a single from PIN-WAT (via SAL) on the same day (^44)!

Very cheap Phil, hope you have an enjoyable day, I will be passing you at some point en-route as I will be doing a slightly smaller circuit of RDG to RDG via BSK (Brake Standard Corridor (carriage)),WAT,MYB,OXF» (Oxford - next trains)

For my route I will be purchasing a RDG(resolve) to Z1-6 travelcard which enables me to go from RDG to WAT via BSK (Brake Standard Corridor (carriage)) on a direct GWR (Great Western Railway) service, this ticket is then valid across London to MYB (London (Marylebone)). I have purchased an advance from MYB to OXF» (Oxford - next trains) around midday for the princely sum of ^5.95 total for me and my son. Then I will purchase a standard single back to RDG. I could in fact make the day slightly cheaper as they have some XC (Cross Country Trains (franchise)) advances from OXF to RDG which are slightly cheaper, however I haven't bothered with this.
