A 9+1 service from North Pole. All nine 'locos' are named too. Special dispensation to show a red light at the front.

Good to see it's not DOO (Driver-Only Operation (that is, trains which operate without carrying a guard))... sorry, SOO.

I thought 1X01 was reserved for the Royal Train, 9X01 would be more appropriate to maintain the schedule.

Actually, it's timed for a mere 250 mph so it may struggle with the schedule anyway.

There's a very nice touch in the middle. Everywhere is "2358, dep 0002" except Westminster, which is "pass...".

Delighted to see a through service Melksham to Southampton Airport too ... I guess the routing is valid because any through service is valid .... though Talsarnau would not be my choice in the deep midwinter!

But I can see validity problems arriving at the destination before you left the origin.

Actually I've thought of another problem. The routeing is valid between the end points as it's a through service, but nipping down all those chimneys must count as break of journey...

Considered a 'comfort break' as 'No toilet facilities available on this service'

THAT, I am pretty sure, is a bit of manual manipulation.  The order of the rest of the stations smells of a hashing algorithm, which I haven't explained in details ... since a week ago  last Thursday, on a Python course.    Still doing Python and Tickle training next year - see http://www.wellho.net ... though moving gently towards a retirement.  We are going to de-register for VAT (Value Added Tax) at the turn of the year, and public and on site course pricing has been adjusted to allow for our future inability as a business to claim VAT back on purchases.    And, really, not a lighter side topic.

The kids and grandkids were around today ... and we are exhausted.  We have a complex family (picture Chris explaining five parents to his wife's somewhat straightlaced, or them trying to work out his sister and un-sister as they sat at the wedding reception each with a pair of unparents).   Christmas Day will be quietly at home - but then thats's what we are looking for and looking forward to.   I am beginning to feel a weight off my mind; for sure we have significant backlog of 'stuff' carrying forward into 2019, but I feel much more that I can have the resource to cover home and family, Well House past time, Coffee Shop, MRUG» (Melksham Rail User Group - site) and perhaps a little more time for TravelWatch SouthWest. Oh - and still enjoying these things and still travelling, meeting people, learning ...
