Perhaps we have been there before ... but I always chuckle at " Earle y", especially when people are going to arrive one late there ... From the Reading ChronicleRAIL passengers are being left stranded at stations today due to signalling problem between Reading and Wokingham.
Since 9pm yesterday, no trains have been stopping at Winnersh Triangle and Earley due to a signalling problem on the railway lines.
Commuters have had to travel direct to their stops and then use a replacement bus to get to their destination.
Jane Lee, spokesman at South Western Railway, said: "The problem has been affecting passengers since half past nine travelling towards Reading from Wokingham. Flowery Field, anyone?? |

The Reading Early Learning Centre used to be on Broad Street, but has now closed. (I think there's still one round the back of the station). I never did find the Earley Reading Learning Centre, though. |

There used to be a "Reading reading centre" attached to the university ... people (including my ex - that's how long ago it was) used to go there in their / her role as a student of leaning and teaching youngster how to read. May still be there for all I know ... |

There used to be two stations in the village of Fairlie, on the Largs line in Scotland. Down at the bottom of the village was "Fairlie Pier", for the ferry to Millport. Up at the top of the village was "Fairlie High".

I don't know Brightside. But I do know Sunnyside. A run out from Glasgow on an early cloudless morning to do a day's work in Coatbridge. Walk across to the other platform and get a wonderful freshly mad breakfast bap in what it a wonderful old station building before walking down and through the park, past the sinkhole and plug, to do a day's work with one of the most remarkable people I have come across in my IT work ... |

When Portishead gets its station, visitors to the town may be a little puzzled that the lowest street in the town is called High St, and frequently floods, whilst the highest road in the town is Down Road. The road leading to this is called Lower Down Road, which prompted a first time visitor to ask me 'is there a Higher Up road ?...which kept me laughing for the rest of the week!

Three Cocks Junction railway station (colloquially as Lucky Man Junction)[4] was a station in Three Cocks, Powys, Wales. The station closed in 1962.[3] The station had a signal box.
It apparently was the cause of considerable levity to some but I am lost as to the reason why!
