I assume it's only season tickets for train journeys only so not travelcard season tickets?
Also does anyone know that if renewing online once you have one of these you'll still get the discount when the service has been below par or will that still require a trip to the station in person?
33  Journey by Journey / London to Didcot, Oxford and Banbury / Re: 27th December - 4.37pm Paddington to Oxford on: December 28, 2018, 13:19:19
Thanks for that.. It explains the lateness of the information too.
34  All across the Great Western territory / The Wider Picture in the United Kingdom / Re: Rail punctuality at 13 year low on: December 27, 2018, 18:15:51
I've noticed an improvement in punctuality too.. though maybe I just chose the trains that are most reliably on time these days.. However it's been several months where I've had  10% off of my monthly season ticket due to lack of punctuality.
35  Journey by Journey / London to Didcot, Oxford and Banbury / 27th December - 4.37pm Paddington to Oxford on: December 27, 2018, 18:06:37
16:37 London Paddington to Oxford due 17:58 will no longer call at Slough, Maidenhead and Didcot Parkway.
This is due to a problem currently under investigation.
Last Updated:27/12/2018 16:33

They announced this on the train a couple of minutes later than the time it appeared on journeycheck and  without any time for me to plan alternatives.. I knew there was a 4.40pm stopper to Maidenhead but wasn't sure I'd have time to get to it before it left and then there was a half hour wait until the next train.. So I decided to go to Reading them come back..

Anyone know what the problem under investigation was? A bit more notice next time would help passengers to plan.. Unsuprisingly it ran pretty empty.. I shared a carriage with only  one other passenger to Reading and it left there just as empty.
36  Journey by Journey / London to Reading / Re: 19.48 Paddington to Worcester Shrub Hill not calling at Maidenhead? on: December 20, 2018, 11:04:22
I was on the 19.48 Tuesday (18th) and it stopped at Maidenhead then. There was some announcement about moving forward for people at the back of the train to alight at Maidenhead though.

I made it as far as Slough on the 11.17 Mai to pad when everything ground to a halt.. Luckily at a station for me rather than stranded between stations like other trains. I was on my way to walk part of the capital ring which is one of my current walking projects.. Instead I made a quick change of plans and got the train to Windsor and walked back to Maidenhead from there.. I wonder if it will be sorted before tomorrow mornings commute..

The Air con seems to be off more than on on the 387s currently. The carriages are usually about 25 degrees.. In fact someone was taken ill on my train at Southall this morning and I'm sure it's no coincidence that the air con came on (and stayed on for the rest of the journey) at that point.. Any idea why this is? Saving electricity to power the trains to the detriment of the passenger's comfort?
43  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Shortage of train crews on Great Western Railway since September 2017 - ongoing discussion on: May 28, 2018, 22:45:47
I've just dropped my son off at Maidenhead for the 10.17 to Paddington.. It's cancelled due to lack of drivers.. Not ideal at this time of night when it was only a half  hourly service anyway..  Huh

I think some readers would be amazed by the statement 'only a half hourly service'

Would they be readers on the mainline into Paddington from what is basically a commuter town?  Comparing like for like hopefully?
