Well the much appreciated newly scheduled train between the last peak train of the morning and the first off peak looks like starting from Oxford this morning so effectively cancelled from Cotswold line stops.

What is worse is that the following train is also cancelled.

(Info from national rail website 0945, confirmed from FGW (First Great Western) website)

The 0952 from Charlbury is cancelled due to staff shortage
The 1008 is cancelled due to train failure

So the gap in services is from 0835 to 1108 on what are usually very busy monday morning services

I believe the 05.48 from London sat down and died at Charlbury, badly delaying services heading the other way until it was moved.

Though it does rather beg the question of what the crew from this working was doing once the service was terminated and presumably dumped in a siding at Oxford. Could they not have been employed instead to operate the 09.29 from Moreton, which did apparently manage to operate from Oxford as timetabled at 10.07?

Had been looking forward to not having to to de-ice the car and drive on iffy roads for once. Good old FGW (First Great Western)...
