This is where it starts to get horrifically complicated ... just using one example off peak open return... an 'svr' is valid for a break of journey....a 'gvr' is not, however just looking at the ticket they would both say 'off peak return', if you don't mind a bit of a read brfares.com is very useful

Devon day ranger is indeed valid on the Okehampton service, i can not guarantee that it will be available on there yet but request has been put in to add devon day ranger to south west trains tvm's ... just type in 'devon' on the a-z finder .... i only requested this last week after noticing that the products had been added as destinations rather than rovers making it possible to add them to the tvm's ..... if not the guard can sell it to you on board :-)

GWR▸ are offering the Dartmoor rover online, however DCC» confirmed this week it is not valid on any buses this year. I understand following First withdrawing DCC wouldn't or couldn't afford to subsidise a new operator.
i just want to correct this post as i believe you are talking specifically about the former okehampton to tavistock bus link, the sunday rover is still valid and available from stagecoach buses.... and is still a very usefull ticket to those not living near a rail hub for example sidmouth which is a saving on the ^7.70 for the return (or explorer) on the bus plus the ^5 rail return even before you factor in the unlimited use on gwr within devon

Was a problem with a set of points so struggling to get stock off the depot, and reduction of available platforms at the station, as for your second comment unfortunately there seems to be a core of people who belive that not being told exactly what you want to hear is poor customer service .... After all rail staff are just servents apparently .....

These online retailers should be offering you the refunds on renewal automatically, if you go to a station and buy a season ticket renewal void days must be paid out automatically, in some cases where the ticket is priced by another toc this means the clerk must manually calculate the amount due, I would go threw the customer services department of the company you travel with.... Also worth pointing out that while I am a nectar fan, the free journey vouchers you get with some toc's are worth more if you would use them.... If your season ticket is over 3k get a nectar Amex card then you will collect points on the ticket and get ^100 worth of points for spending 3k in the first two months (the ^25 annual fee is waived in the first year)

Just to add that the out portion of the ticket can be used from the same time as the standard off peak day return can be used for the journey you wish to make, i won't bother going in to services towards exeter from pinhoe for obvious reasons however the first service the ticket is valid for for stations basingstoke and beyond is the 0650, for stations between pinhoe and before basingstoke (and some but not all connections from basingstoke down towards pompy and southampton and weymouth) it would be the 0734, any requiring a change and going off the main line should be checked individually as most will agree ticket restrictions can be a little strange and illogical, the evening restrictions only apply to the stations in london mentioned in the previous post
