After last night's problems at Paddington, Cotwold Line passengers had this experience this morning:

"04:50 Hereford to London Paddington due 07:56 has been delayed previously and is now 124 minutes late from Charlbury.
This is due to a broken down train."

The 07:10 Moreton-in-Marsh service had already been cancelled due to over-running engineering works. With the 04:50 blocking the line at Charlbury, the following 05:28 Hereford-Paddington and 06:53 Worcester Foregate Street-Didcot Parkway were also significantly delayed and the 06:42 Hereford-Paddington diverted via Swindon.

As usual, the level of communication from GWR (Great Western Railway) was non-existent - the info board giving out spurious expected time - leaving passengers to rely on social media and friends stuck on the train at Charlbury to find out what was or wasn't happening.

The 04:50 HFD» (Hereford - next trains):PAD» (Paddington (London) - next trains) finally left Charlbury 124 minutes late.
