Hi all,

I'm James and have joined the forums in the last 24 hours.

I've done a bit of searching on here and it is good to see that a fair number of FGW (First Great Western) staff frequent the site, as I have a few questions in mind I would like to ask, so I will put these in the relevant forums.

Living in Acton, I am a regular user of the Greenford line (I use it to get into work in the city every day - although in the morning I usually catch the earlier trains which originate from Oxford or Reading rather than from Greenford).

I have also done a fair bit of travelling on the line out of London Paddington to Tiverton Parkway, as my parents own a house that used to belong to my grandmother in North Devon, and I may be slightly sad to admit it, but because of that, that is my favourite line - and I get extremely jealous of commuters I see boarding trains that stop at Tiverton when I use Paddington every day but am not using it to get on the train to Tiverton!

As I said, I have a few questions to ask, so will post these separately, and I'm sure I will think of more and be able to contribute some good posts here, I look forward to seeing you around the forum!

Welcome to the forum.

I'm particularly looking forward to reading your observations on the Greenford line.

You can find out more about how this forum works [here] - that will link you to a copy of the forum agreement that you can read before you join, and tell you very much more about how we operate. We are an independent forum, provided and run by customers of Great Western Railway, for customers of Great Western Railway and we welcome railway professionals as members too, in either a personal or official capacity. Views expressed in posts are not necessarily the views of the operators of the forum.

As well as posting messages onto existing threads, and starting new subjects, members can communicate with each other through personal messages if they wish. And once members have made a certain number of posts, they will automatically be admitted to the "frequent posters club", where subjects not-for-public-domain are discussed; anything from the occasional rant to meetups we may be having ...
