Lots of talk about just how tight GWR (Great Western Railway) will be for stock come the timetable change.   But then I come to realise that's a choice that's been made when I see a 153 and a line of 156s ...

Sorry Grahame, but that link to Facebook doesn't work (maybe because I am not "on" Facebook).

If it was a picture showing a lot of off-lease class 156s lying out of use, that is almost criminal! Having used them on Northern & Scottish services, I reckon they would be ideal on a number of GW (Great Western) cross-country/middle distance services.

I would have preferred them to Turbos on the North Downs!

Do they comply with

Not withstanding the Treasury and DfT» (Department for Transport - about) forcing the railways to cut costs by reducing services, overhead costs such as expensive to maintain older trains etc.

Oops - its part of a group post - https://www.facebook.com/groups/ukhstgroup/ - and content can only be seen by members.  Sorry folks.

Description - 6 lines of trains in store at Ely. 2 lines are 153 / 156, around 8 to 10 carriages each, viewed from an elevated position at the end.  153351 and 156498 are the end units, other numbers not visible.  The other lines are class 43 power cars and HST (High Speed Train) coaches.
