Where's Finn, and what's the railway connection?

It makes me think of the Dramway in Coalpit Heath. I'm pretty sure it isn't actually that but is it another mining or industrial track (ruins of)?

Ruins yes. But not industrial.

Is Finn standing on some sort of vaulted structure?

There seems to be an information plaque between the structure and the road; English Heritage location perhaps?

Ok let's jump in with a wild guess (but with doubts as I would have expected some surrounding buildings in the background)

Glastonbury Abbey?

He's on an exterior wall, ruined.

We're getting warmer.

Glastonbury Abbey?

Sorry no.

Don't forget, there is a railway link to this building.

Finn you are a naughty dog. On the English heritage website it says "Do not climb on the walls".

5029?

I think that's a succinct answer to both the location and railway link. Yes, Finn and I were at Nunney Castle. It's a lovely location for an evening stroll. It'll be even better when the nearby pub reopens!

GWR (Great Western Railway) 5029 Nunney Castle was the last locomotive to leave Dai Woodham's Barry scrapyard by rail, in May 1976, after being purchased by a consortium including the Great Western Society.

Finn you are a naughty dog. On the English heritage website it says "Do not climb on the walls".

There are signs at the castle too. Sadly, Finn isn't progressing as well as I'd like with his reading skills.

Surprised he can’t read.  He’s normally such a well behaved dog.  He also does a very good job of hoovering my office!
