sorry bringing up an old post, the red arrows are making a return this summer during falmouth week, so can expect a similar need for fgw to be prepared!
3107  Journey by Journey / Plymouth and Cornwall / Re: Train driver forced to stop for man on line, St Ives (6 April 2010) on: May 20, 2010, 14:03:06
this was covered in the cornishman last week complete with the BTP (British Transport Police)'s photo of the offender. it was on page 2 of the paper as well so hope the bloke seen himself and handed himself in!

19:32 Paignton to Exmouth due 21:01
This train will be formed of 2 coaches instead of 3.
21:04 Exmouth to Exeter St Davids due 21:34
This train will be formed of 2 coaches instead of 3.
21:30 Cardiff Central to Bristol Temple Meads due 22:27
This train will be formed of 2 coaches instead of 3.

although live updates show the above meaning they've stolen the coaches from these schedules?

isnt exeter's stadium right beside the M5 from memory so would be far easier for fans to get straight on the M5 and back to bristol quicker than they can get to the train station probably!
3109  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Re: Is this valid? on: May 06, 2010, 14:53:34
i once went into a "unnamed" ticket office to buy an advance ticket from Truro-gatwick airport, and the ticket sales guy suggested split tickets, i havent named the ticket office in case of potential repercussions if he wasnt supposed to recommend me such a ticket
the Truro-Gatwick ticket advance off peak return was well over ^200
yet a Truro-Redhill was around ^40, followed by a cheap single from Redhill-Gatwick was only a few quid. i have never understood how they worked out these prices.
